Therapists in training

A woman in a blank long-sleeved top and blank trousers sits on a blue couch. She has long brown hair and is talking to someone sitting in a couch across from her who you can't see besides their legs.

We are committed to supporting learning as widely as possible and we enjoy working with therapists in training each year. Not only does this give trainee therapists an opportunity to develop their skills and confidence in delivering therapy and building client hours, it also helps us to offer therapy to more people more quickly.

We ask that placement applicants already have 50-75 hours of counselling experience on placement before applying to Changes. If you have this level of experience and/or have work experience with clients in allied fields, for example peer support work, mental health nursing, provision of other therapies, we would be happy to consider an application from you.

Each year we host a small team of trainees within our Counselling Services. Trainees come from a wide range of course providers including the University of Edinburgh, Glasgow Caledonian University, Persona, Physis, Interface and The Centre of Therapy and Counselling Studies.
