Temporary Administrator

20 hours per week | Potential to become permanent after 3 months

Do you have excellent listening skills, administrative skills, and are keen to support people having difficulties with their mental health?

Our sympathetic and supportive Administration Team provides the foundation for all support offered at Changes and ensures everything runs smoothly.  We are seeking a highly motivated, well organized team player in this sensitive public facing role, to support our administrative work. You would ensure everyone who contacts Changes receives a warm, supportive welcome and can access the information / support required, and behind the scenes, ensure processes are followed and operating smoothly. 

Your responsibilities will include administering new support enquiries (electronic, phone, face-to-face), allocating appointments, managing client database, administering groups and courses and supporting administration of Changes therapy service. You will work in a flexible, and non-judgmental way.  

Role will be based in the Changes office in Musselburgh.

Chair of the Board of Trustees

Monthly meeting (12 total) | Volunteer

Are you passionate about mental health and wellbeing, and looking for the chance to make a difference in your local community? We are seeking a Chairperson for our Board of Trustees.

The Chair will hold the Board and Executive Team to account for the Charity’s mission and vision, providing strong leadership to the Board of Trustees to ensure that the Board functions as a unit, and that each trustee fulfils their duties and responsibilities for the effective governance of the charity.

The Chairperson will be responsible for driving strategy, mitigating risk, implementing effective governance and ensuring consistent and efficient operation of the Board. You will preside over each Board meeting, ensuring that all relevant matters are discussed, and actions taken.

You will work closely with the CEO to maintain the effective management of the organisation, and the execution of the Charity’s vision and strategic priorities.

Who We’re Looking For

The Chairperson will require strong leadership and strategy skills, and the ability to effectively manage a diverse group of people. You should be able to inspire positive change whilst maintaining the governance required by funders and service users.

Previous experience on a Board or within a charity is not essential but would be beneficial. We are particularly (but not exclusively) looking for individuals from the following backgrounds:

As a charity in East Lothian, Changes is here to help the community achieve and maintain positive mental health and wellbeing by providing a wide range of services and activities including 1-1 therapy, support groups and courses, healthy living activities, training, and volunteering opportunities.

Services are free and open to everyone over the age of 16 living, or registered with a GP, in East Lothian. Changes provides support for a wide range of challenges including stress, panic, low mood, low self-esteem, anxiety, worry, depression, and negative thinking. Activities are friendly, welcoming, and inclusive and offer opportunities to meet new people, get active and get involved in the local community.
